For the original discussion,
head this way.
For the actual plugin, read on.
Basically the gist is that I was looking for something to finally move on from a double confirmation to a single confirmation without needlessly affecting game progress at the time of loading data from the logbook (or continue function, in this case). The issue is that MV and other RPG Maker editions use the "snapshot method" of tracking progress which is not exactly ideal if you're using a checkpoint/confessional system. This plugin gets around that issue by using a control switch mapped to the plugin itself so that when the game is loaded it sets the switch to the on position.
To use the plugin, simply install, integrate from plugin manager and change line 55 from its default of:
Code:
- $gameSwitches.setValue(1, true);
复制代码
to whatever switch number you're using:
Code:
- $gameSwitches.setValue(365, true);
复制代码
After that, all you need to do is place a conditional branch mapped to the same control switch as the plugin (and immediately under the save screen call) to both turn off the switch and exit event processing so that you don't needlessly double-confirm yourself (or whatever else you have set in the checkpoint event).
As this is related to a specific requirement, there is no real expectation of any conflicts unless the MV code were to change to the detriment of function. And for the record, the
original code is by Doktor_Q back in 2016 so if this is a duplicate, conflict of intended distribution, etc. you are free to adjust accordingly. And
don't quote me for any use of this, either - I simply did the work to commit the code into a fully-prepared plugin file.
