So TL;DR there is a way to play Windows only games on Steam OS, (not just the ones that specifically enable their game through Steam. Read below to learn how if you haven't already).
So as a Linux user, I've been trying to find a way to test my games and I've looked at a few solutions, VMs, etc.
One thing I didn't know, is that Steam actually has a Beta version of their software called Proton. So if people normally want to use Windows stuff on a Linux computer, there's a program called Wine that is really annoying to try to download and use (or it could have been a user problem, not the best at using my own OS, lol)
What Proton is, is a Steam modified version of Wine, built into their software that allows you to set it up and use it to play Windows games on Linux. Many of you may already know about this, but it was news for me so I'm sharing for those who don't.
The link to do it is here. It's super easy to do. I literally went into my steam settings, checked a box, did a reset of steam for the software to update and I was done.
