    Making this post since I've done a bit of searching for Leech Attack for MZ and not getting the results I wanted.
    To define leech in this context: When you attack you either get the full damage healed back at you, or a portion of it.
    Before I realized it could all be done in eventing, I was using javascript via the VisuMZ Battle Coreplugin, adjusting the "JS: Pre-Start Turn" inside the Mechanics settings
    At the very end I put
                    JavaScript:
    console.log(user); if (typeof user.actorId === "function"){        $gameVariables.setValue(13,a.actorId()); }

    To store the last actor acting to variable 13.

    Turns out there is a much simpler way.
    1. In the aforementioned plugin settings assign your damage variable.
    There is already a pre-set function inside the Mechanics settings in that plugin called "Variable: Damage" which lets you set the damage last given/taken to a variable.

    2. Have a basic state. You can choose whether to have it be auto removed. Keep its ID in mind for later if you plan on scripting.

    3. Any skill you want to trigger this leech, make sure it triggers the common event you have for your leech, or any logic you want applicable to any skill.
    I am choosing common event 7.

    4. On the common event you will put in your logic.
    Assign a variable, in my case 13, to the last actor acting.

    5. If you just want to check a specific character for leech, just use a conditional statement to check for leech.
    If you want to use it for ANY character, you will need a bit of JavaScript.

    Inside the scripted if statement on page 4 of conditional branch options, put the following line
                    JavaScript:
    $gameActors.actor($gameVariables.value(X)).hasState(Y) == true

    X being the variable you use to track the actor ID.
    Y being the number of that state.

    The full common event looks like this if you aren't limiting it to a specific actor

    If you are limiting it to a specific character like i am here, it's relatively simpler and no scripting is needed.(That message command was just to verify it was running properly you don't need that)

    The only disappointing part is needing to put this common event on EVERY related skill, which I am personally okay with. If anyone knows of a plugin to have a common event run after EVERY skill, please feel free to point it out.
    Only other thing is there's no healing popup, which would require scripting, and I am okay with doing without.
