So, I'm developing my project on a Windows 10 machine, and tried to deploy to Mac. I don't know anybody in reach with a Mac, so I zipped it up, uploaded the deployed project to dropbox and asked a friend to help me out. This was his report (verbatim):
MacOS 10.10.5 ‘Yosemite’
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB
========
ZIP Expand: OK
Renamed folder to "• revobrpg"
Boot game from desktop:
Dlog: The application “Game” can’t be opened.
Renamed folder back to “revobrpg”, rebooted ‘Game’: same dlog
Deleted folder; re-expanded file, opened from downloads folder: same dlog.
Quit test for Mac; threw toys; shouted at gods
To make sure it wasn't an issue with my project file, I created a new, barebones one from scratch and uploaded that, too: Dropbox Link
His report: Still no joy, matey. "The application 'Game' can't be opened." I even tried opening in Terminal (the DOS equivalent of Mac OS) just to get an error code... -10810. And before you go looking that up, it's virtually useless to you.
Is there any advice for my friend trying to open this game file? Is it something about his specs, or is there another fix?
