Having an animation or moving object like dancing flower or grass could makes a game look ‘alive’ and
interesting. It is quite easy to make it and fun too! All you need for this tutorial will be :
1. Ms paint.exe or any other compatible paint software.
2. RPG maker XP software.
1. First, open RPG maker and export these 2 files out from Graphic/tileset and Graphic/characters
Spoiler Grassland tileset ( we want to use the flower in the circle)
Support 08(or etc support file, this will serve as template/frame for our dancing flower)
2. Now, open file support 08 with paint.exe and do the following.
Spoiler draw the outline around the object
& then, erase the available image
3. Open the Grassland tileset with paint.exe and by using select tool, copy and paste the flower image & do as following
Spoiler Paste the image into the first empty space of the frame.
Do the same for the rest of the frame but this time, for 2nd and 4th frame, flip the image horizontally, as been showed in below image.
All left now is to erase the outline and now, you got a dancing flower animation! Rename the file and imported back into Graphic/character file.
To use it on your map, just place it on map do as follow, you can change the frequency and speed to lowest to make it move much smoother.
Now, using the same concept & let your imagination taking over, you can make more simple moving animation!
